“And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.” Isaiah 6:13
Camille is a follower of Jesus, a wife, mother, sometimes makeup artist, (now) writer, and a student of the Word of God.
My deepest desire is to point the way to Jesus, who quenches our thirst and satiates our hunger by fulfilling us through his holy and living Word.
My hope for this space is to be a conduit of peace, encouragement and truth in a world of confusion and darkness. I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. As the epic his-story goes, “the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” (John 1:14). God came in the form of man, fully man and fully God. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15) Jesus, the Word, died and became a curse for us, for the propitiation of our sins.
Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross. Philippians 2:5-8
He died so that we may have abundant life in Him, and by Him we are born again, adopted into his Kingdom as sons and daughters of the most High King. We have redemption through Christ and now have new life in Him.
The founding of this website is based on Isaiah 6, with which the Holy Spirit continually uses in my life, beginning with the Father seated in the highest place, upon his throne, exalted so high that even the train of his robe fills the temple with his holiness. The end of chapter 6 may seem like a tough chapter as God commands:
“And he said, “Go, and say to this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’ Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
And as Isaiah struggles with God’s command, it only gets worse, as God calls for the destruction of the city until it’s inhabitants are cast out and it’s oaks burned:
“And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled.” The holy seed is it's stump.”
And there it is: the promise. The holy seed is its stump. This single picture of the holy seed is the foundation of this space. Suffering, destruction and despair have their place, their time and their season, and only through Christ are they fulfilled, and only in Him are his purposes, mercy, grace and gifts discovered.
May this space be a blessing to you and may it be pleasing and honoring to our Heavenly Father.
Amen.
